From 2008 to 2023, Matthew served as a Partner and Investment Analyst at Capital Group, responsible for evaluating, recommending, and investing in companies across:

  • Asia-Pacific telecommunications
  • Australian real estate, banking, insurance, and retail

He managed a portfolio of approximately $2 billion across eight global equity mutual funds with both income and growth mandates.

Between 2014–2017, Matthew was the Research Portfolio Coordinator for the New Perspective Fund, organising coverage, synthesising insights from analysts, and helping shape portfolio positioning. He later held the same role for the Capital World Growth and Income Fund from 2022–2023.
